FAQ
I am constantly being asked questions about Antarctica, so I figured I'd
take the more popular questions and post them so everyone hears the answers.
If you have a question that's not on this page, feel free to email me at
tbrox@att.net.
- Have you seen any polar bears yet?
- No, I have not seen any polar bears in Antarctica, and I am positive I
will not see any polar bears here. There are absolutely no polar bears
in Antarctica since they are native to the Arctic. (Meaning they stay
in the North.)
- How many hours each day is the sun out?
- During the summer season (October through February), there is
continuous sunlight. Meaning the sun stays out all day. When I
got to Antarctica in late October, the last sunset had already
happened for 2001 and now the sun is out until the next sunset,
which isn't until February 22, 2002.
